Ryan came back from Washington with an unwanted souvenir. Apparently last Tuesday, he and Grandma Megan had just gotten back from the store. He said that when he got out of the car, his foot hit a bush and he got a splinter in his big toe. I know what you must be thinking, just get some tweezers and get it out.
Well that's easier said than done with Ryan. When he was 3 yrs old at MDO he got a splinter in the bottom of his foot. Ryan would not let anyone go near his foot, so needless to say he walked around with a good size splinter in his for for about 2 or 3 months. That was until it finally worked it's way out. So you see how just using tweezers was out of the question.
Ryan did say that Grandma tried to get it out and did get some of it, but there was still a thorn in his big toe. She told him to just watch it and make sure it didn't get infected. Well Saturday night he said he thought he could get it out, well he tried and us unsuccessful. I suggested that he soak his foot.
I think that did the trick. Ryan soaked his toe for about 20 minutes and then he just pulled it right out. He was so proud of himself, he asked if he could call his Grandma.
I couldn't believe how long the thorn was. The length of the thorn was probably the same thickness as his toe. I'm just so happy that he got it out.
