A little bit of a struggle

Lately I've been struggling a bit lately with going to workout. I really don't know what my problem is, I normally enjoy going. If I'm upset or had a bad day, it always makes me feel better. I know this may sound crazy but I like to work up a good sweat, it clears my mind. It's just lately I can find 1001 reason not to go...I think my main reason is it's the New Year and all the resolution(ers) are in there. I mean don't get me wrong, bless their hearts for getting in there and getting healthy but some people need to learn a little gym etiquette. I don't think I can take it the next time someone dressed like this

hops on the treadmill next to me smelling like they just bathed in there perfume, talking on there cell phone. Ha! Seriously, if I can hear you over my IPod, that's on full blast, you are talking too loud...

OK, so enough of that, I just sometimes need to get that out. So to end on a positive note, I did go to the gym yesterday and did 55 minute of interval cardio. Good sweat!

Tonight, running and weights. It'll be 2 days in a row, one more day and then it becomes a habit.

Favorite Places to Shop

SUWYL - It's all about Where do you shop? On-line or In Stores?

My favorite place to shop:
Work clothes:

I don't have the best fashion sense, but I love clothes. Anytime I go shopping I always take my sister Tish. So that way I end up with some of the cutest work clothes.

Make-up:

Home Improvement:

Home decor/furnishing:
There's a dinning table that I'm wishing for.

Children/Pre-teen clothing:

I really like this store because I can not only buy his everyday clothes but I can also buy his uniform pants for school. Gotta love standardize dress.

Well this is my sister's favorite place for Brady. She loves when it's Gym Buck time. Which is this weekend.

My favorite all purpose store of all time is...

Love, Love, Love this place.

Show us your life - Diets, excercise programs and weight loss ideas

Today I thought I'd join in on Kelly's Korner weekly Show us your Life. This week is Diets, exercise programs and weight loss ideas. For as long as I can remember I have always struggled with my weight. I had finally got my weight were I felt good about myself and then I had my son Ryan. From then it has been an uphill battle. Well thanks to my "sister in law", who's a personal trainer and a competitive fitness model, she made me a workout plan that is fits into my busy schedule.
  • 3x a week - full body weight training
  • 20-30 min of interval cardio 3x a week
  • on 4th day of training either a yoga class or a cardio session

Of course I have already started eating more healthy: more veggies and fruits and protein (yes that does mean I'm back to eating chicken breast and rice.) Less sweets and definitely no cokes, sprites, or dr peppers not even the diet kind.

Here is my weight loss tip, you must have a realistic goal in mind. I have given myself until June 1st to reach my goal of dropping, at the very least, 20 lbs. Anymore pounds dropped is icing on the cake, but the candy sprinkles is that if I do meet my goal, Jason said he would buy me anything I wanted (within reason, of course.) So to me, along with dropping the weight & being healthy for myself and family, getting to buy anything I want is going to be worth it.

Baby it's cold outside!

So tomorrow's high temp is expected to be 28 degrees. Can you believe that I live in Texas, 28 degrees with AM wind chills near zero!! That is just crazy. Hopefully the forecast is right for Saturday, that way we'll get above freezing.

I'm definately dreaming of a tropical vacation. How long until summer is here? Come on heat and humidity.

New Years Resolutions

This year my new years resolutions are...

This year I vow not to make any resolutions. Every year I make resolutions and every year I'm quick to break at least 2 in the first week. So I've decided this year I would not hold myself to unattainable resolutions. I'm setting some specific and realistic goals.

  1. I will be a better friend, mother, sister, daughter and aunt. I no doubt love my family but sometimes with all that goes on I forget about the love, support and encouragement they continually give me.
  2. I will be a better listener. Sometimes I think that I only hear what people say and not really listen to what they need.
  3. I will increase the days a week that I go to the gym: 3 days of weight training and 4 days of cardio. This isn't new, I want to improve the frequency that I currently go.
  4. I will run a 5k in 29 minutes. Then by April will run my first half marathon (America's Half Marathon 4-11)

I may not make all the improvements I set for myself, but I can continue to try everyday.
