Hard work pays off

This baseball season has been a little different than most. In years past, Ryan has always been on a winning team. This year not so much, but it has taught him a lesson in hard work. He has also been playing in outfield. Ryan was not very excited about that. Jason and I just kept telling him to work hard at practice and during the games. That's what he has done and it finally paid off. Friday after practice the Coach was talking with Jason, he let Jason know that he noticed that Ryan had improved over the last few weeks and he was going to start him out at 2nd base at Saturday's game.
Ryan did really really good. He caught a couple of balls and missed some as well. But the best play of the game was when he caught a fly ball at 2nd and threw to 1st for a double play baby! We were so proud of him. Between us, Jason even jumped up out of his seat.

Ryan and Michael W.
I was telling his mom that the coach doesn't know that he has put double trouble together out there together.
The boys were just hanging out while the coach changed out pitchers. Michael W. is a standout player.

Drewy was not interested in the game at all.

Getting a pep talk from Coach Paul

Although they lost again. I really think that the Coach was proud of them for all their all hard work for coming within one run and because of that he gave out 2 game balls.

The first ball went to Michael. He was 3 for 3 with 5 RBI's.

The second one went to Ryan, for making an awesome double play on his first start at 2nd.

Jason telling me "I told you so" (he knew Ryan would get a game ball)

Good job Ryan and Michael!
