Belated Happy Father's day

I just wanted to extend a very belated, but Happy Fathers day to my stepdad Rick; my BIL, Kevin and to my honey, Jason. You guys have been great and so wonderful to Ryan. He is truely blessed to have such good, honest and upstanding men as his role models. Thank you for all the love and guidence you give him everyday.

I would also like to send a very special Happy Father's day to my daddy. I miss, love and think about you everyday. I wish that he could be around to see his three beautiful grandsons.

Adrian meet your crazy Aunt Lala

So I finally got to me my other nephew, Adrian. Guess what, I absolutely love him and he seemed to like me. He is such a sweet little baby boy. I spent a few hours with him last Thursday. For Adrian only being 7 months he sure is crawling around all over the place. Then on Saturday evening, they {his mommy and daddy and Vanessa} all come to San Antonio to have dinner with us on the Riverwalk. I don't have a lot of pictures of either visit for 2 reason: 1) I was more into wanting to give that little munchkin kisses and hugs and 2) my photographer {Jason}, well I had to fire him. He couldn't work my camera. The one picture I do have of me with Adrian we both look washed out.

Thanks Tina, Seth and Vanessa for coming to have dinner with us. I really enjoyed getting to spend time with y'all. Plus it gave me more time with my newest love.

What did you do this weekend?

I don't know about you, but our weekend was B-U-S-Y. Our Saturday started out kinda early. It was family fun shopping day. Yay! Since Ryan has standardized dress in school, his closet his full of tan shorts, red/blue/white Polo's and very few regular clothes.  So it was time to get that boy some new clothes.
Tish and Brady picked us up around 9:45 and we were off to the mall. Ryan was only excited about going shopping when he found out that his Aunt Tish was going with us.  See, I have absolutely no fashion sense.  I admit that very freely. I was basically going with them to pay for the clothes and to keep Brady occupied while Tish helped Ryan shop.  He did walk away with a ton of clothes (JCP was having a huge sale).  Then it was time for lunch. We were all starving especially Brady, but he got a glimpse of the carousal and wouldn't take his eyes of it. He got to ride his first carousal ride. But it wouldn't be complete with out his Bubba. So Bubba got on and took a spin with him.

We had one more store to check out and by this time both Ryan and Brady had had enough. Brady decided that he was going to crawl under one of the table displays and lay down.

{always posing}

That, my friends, was when we knew it was time to call it a day. Brady and Ryan were so tired that they passed out before we were out of the mall parking lot.
When I got home a needed to nap because we were taking my youngest sister Kaitlyn to the Tim McGraw/Lady Antebellum concert. I guess I could say that it's kind of a tradition with Tish and I; to take our younger sibling to concerts. It's a good bonding experience (we did the same thing with my other 2 sisters: N'SYNC). I must say that I had a really good time with her. I'm beginning to enjoy her more that she is getting older. She told us that she had been listening to country music all week long. Kaitlyn also informed us that she didn't know one Tim McGraw song. Well I think we turned her into a Tim McGraw fan. Plus she couldn't believe that he was 42 yrs old and still good looking.

Here are some pictures from the concert.

The photos are courtesy of my good friend Dana. She and her husband were 6 rows from the stage. I was in the lawn seats and my pictures did not turn out so good.

Sunday was a regular Sunday, I cleaned the house and washed clothes. I waited as long as I could for the cleaning lady to get to my house but she never did. Then I realized, I am the cleaning lady. Ha! Anyway, I asked Jason if he could take Ryan to the movies so that I could clean without interruption. They ended up seeing the A-Team Movie (how I loved the TV show when I was a little girl). Jason and Ryan said it was a really good action movie.

I can't wait to start our vacation. Only two more days. I sure hope the next two days don't drag. Till next time ;-)

5 reasons why I'm smiling today!

1. I'm smiling today because I have a date with the two cutest boys around. Tonight I'm hanging out with Ryan and my sweet nephew Brady.

2. I'm smiling today because six days from now I finally get to meet my other sweet nephew, Adrian. I hope I don't make him cry because of all the kisses I'll be giving him.

3. I'm smiling because I love seeing how happy Ryan looks when he's reading an email from his dad.

4. I'm smiling today because the sun is shining.

5. I'm smiling today because well just because.

Soaking up the sun

Yesterday, Ryan and Michael got to go swimming all day at Pamela's (close family friend & our hairstylist). Their day started bright and early. Pamela picked up the boys and off they were to her house for a day of swimming. They lounged on the floats, Ryan practiced his water football skills, ate hot dogs and chips and Michael ate almost a whole jar of pickles.

Here are just some of the cool action shots that Pamela took:

Ryan was exhausted and very tan when I picked him up. So tired in fact that he was asleep when I got home from the gym at 9pm. Gotta love pool days, it still makes my kiddo nice and tired.

Summer, summer, summer time

Today marks the first day of Ryan's summer vacation. So in honor of that, I told him that I would let him sleep in and he could go to his Nana's later in the day. Before I left I checked his phone to make sure the volume was turned way up and put it by his head.

I called him around around 9am to wake him up, he didn't answer. I called him again around 9:50 and he didn't answer. I continued calling for 10 minutes straight. Nothing. So, of course, I start to get worried. I started thinking of every bad scenario that could happen. That's when I decided to call my mom and have her go check on him. Thank goodness she has spare key. She said that he was still asleep when she got there at 11am. I mean, really how tired could he possibly be, he went to sleep at 10:30pm.

I was relieved that I'd worried for nothing, but trying to wake Ryan up is like trying to wake the dead. He reminds me of my sister, Christina, that girl could sleep through a tornado. I think he got his sleeping ability from her because I wake up at 6:450 every morning.
