Swing for the fences

***Updated- Finally uploaded some baseball pictures***

Baseball season is in full swing and as of right now our team is 4-3. Not too bad. Ryan has been kinda in a slump since the first game, until Tuesday night. Ryan finally got a hold of the ball and knocked a line drive to the outfield. He was so proud of himself. I asked him if he heard everyone cheering for him and he told me, "no." All he was thinking about was getting on base.

Missed it by 1 point

Report cards came out yesterday and Ryan made the A Honor Roll. Woo-hoo!!! He did bring up his math grade to a 94, which I'm super proud of him for doing. He did miss the making the Principal's Honor Roll by one point, but he was ok with it. He said, "I'll make it next time." He's such a amazing kid.

Coming soon...Nov 2009

I just wanted to introduce everyone to the newest member of our family... My niece or nephew

Can you tell I'm extremely excited? I just love babies. I can't wait to spoil the newest member of our family. He or she will be just as spoiled as my Ryan and Brady bear.

Opening day ceremonies 4/4/09

We have officially kicked off our 2009 baseball season. This past Saturday was a perfect day for our rescheduled opening day ceremonies. The festivities started at 11am and Ryan's game started at 12pm. It was a good game but the Yankees dominated us with pitching. Final score 20-5. I would love to show pictures of the days events, but I was watching my sweet Brady bear for the day (his mom & dad had what I like to call day-cation) and I couldn't multi task. I forgot just how much work little ones require...Anyway, the game was good, but like I said the pitching is what got us. Ryan struck out both times but at least he went out swinging.

Proud of the a loss

VS

Last night was the make up game from Saturday. The Rays vs The Giants. We didn't win, the score was 5-1. It's funny how I'm more proud of this loss, then of the win from the previous night. This team has really come together. Ryan got a piece of the ball each time at bat, but eventually struck out both times. Seriously the kid pitching was throwing about 55-60mph. You could hear the ball whiz by and hit the catcher mitt. I guess why I'm so proud for the team is that they played a real baseball game, they faced a good pitcher and batters. It might not make since to anyone else, but I'll take that kind of a loss anytime (and I'm the typical competitive sports mom.)

I know this is not the best picture but, I again forgot my camera. Hopefully, Laura got a few pictures.

Perfect Score

I know most moms believe their child is the smartest kid in school, I know my son is the smartest. At the beginning of March he took the reading section of the TAKS test (Texas Assessment of Knowledge and Skills is a standardized test used in Texas primary and secondary schools to assess students.) Out of 46 questions, guess how many he got wrong??? NONE! He got them all correct. Perfect, just perfect. Ryan was very proud of himself and I was proud for him.

On a side note last Thursday 3 week progress reports came out and Ryan fore warned me that his math grade was not "good." His words: Not Good. So I'm thinking 75-80, not good. He handed me the report and his math grade was a 91. He has a goal of making the Principal's Honor Roll and you have to have a grade of 95 or better, in all subjects, to make it. He keeps missing it by one point. Ryan feels he will make it for sure this time. Hopefully he continues to have excellent grades, then getting into UT or OU (any Big 12 school will do) will be a piece of cake.

Baseball season opener 3/31/09

Last night was the season opener for Ryan's baseball team. They played the Garner Rangers. I must say I was very nervous for our team. This is our first season in this division. The team did fantastic. Ryan went 2 for 3 with 3 RBI's. Both hits sailed right between 1st and 2nd base, they were perfect. He had the best time playing 3rd base. Technically the final score was 23-23, but due to the fact that we were the home team and were not able to finish the inning due to the 2 hour time limit, the score reverted back the previous inning and the Rays won 20-4. Now that was a way to start the season. Tonight, we have a make up game with the Giants wish'em GOOD LUCK!
