I would have never imagine Ryan being so good with Brady, but if Brady could talk in full sentences I'm sure he would tell you that his Bubba is his best friend. Ryan loves to make Brady laugh. He will do just about anything to get him to laugh. Ryan even enjoys watching Jack's Big Music show with him. But Ryan told me what he is most looking forward to doing when Brady gets older is building and playing in a tree house fort (Hear that Uncle Kevin, you need to start making this happen.) Who knew that a 10 yr old and 13 mos old would have so much in common.
It's funny how Ryan's opinion of babies has changed in the last 2 years. I remember when his Aunt Tish told him she was having a baby, he wanted no part of it, basically ignored her growing belly, until Brady was born. So when I told him that his Aunt Tina and Uncle Seth were gonna have a baby I wasn't sure how he would react (FYI, Ryan has always had a unique relationship with each of my sisters.) He was so happy. He was like really? When? He's already making plans for his new baby cousin. He's just hopes it's a boy...Now we just need them to move closer to home.

Camp Grady Spruce 2009
This year Ryan's 5th grade class went for their overnight field trip to the YMCA's Camp Grady Spruce at Possum Kingdom Lake. This is not only an educational experience as much as it's a 5th grade right of passage. He had the best time. He got to climb Johnson Peak and took a boat ride to Devil's Island. At night they made a campfire and ate S'mores. He also learned how to clear the dinner table (which I thought was amazing.) Ryan also got to see just how bright the stars really shine in the country. He's still talking about things he learned and about his counselor's from Turkey and Brazil. I'm glad he got to experience all this camp has to offer.
Basketball Season Ends 2/20/09
After 12 long weeks, basketball season is finally over. Although the boys did not win a single game they seemed to enjoy getting out and playing hard. Ryan did good as the starting 6th man. As the season went on he became more aggressive on the court and would draw the foul. Ryan is quite the free throw shooter. I was not able to get any basketball pictures this season due to I kept forgetting my camera everytime (early morning & across town games are very hard to get to.) So it is just my luck that when I remembered my camera, the battery died...
